Welcome to my web page! This is my 22nd year of teaching! Wow- I can't believe it! Time flies when you are having fun, right!? That's exactly how I feel about my teaching career. I am a born and bred Colt! I grew up in Oakboro, attended WSHS, and then graduated from Wingate University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. After teaching 3rd grade for 3 years, I decided to venture into middle school by teaching 6th grade for 11 years. I LOVED middle schoolers, so I decided to become certified in Middle School ELA, and received my National Board Certification in Early Adolescence/ ELA, and have been teaching either 7th or 8th grade since! I am happily married to Jeff, and we have 2 beautiful children, Kaylee (18) and Camden (13). I am one of the Volleyball coaches here at WSMS, am a Beta Club Advisor, I love to READ, spend time during the summer at Sunset Beach with my family, and attend Hopewell Baptist Church. I am looking forward to another fabulous year here at WSMS! Go Colts!
